[Koha] Creating Call Numbers

Dear Sir/ Madam,

We are creating an online catalogue system to document over 3,000 items that
we have in 5 different locations.

We want to assign to each item a call number so that once having found the
item on Koha we can then find it easily in the actual library location.
However, when we upload an item in Koha it has the subfield o- Full Call
Number and this is not automatically generated - we don`t understand why
this is because shouldn`t it be automatically generated based on the
preference of the field 2-Source of Classification or shelving scheme (Dewey
or LOC)??

Maybe we have understood this incorrectly, but what we need to do is
generate a reference number/code for each item so that it can be labelled on
the item and then put within the shelves in an ordered way.

How is this possible?
