  This means your patron interface is successfully installed.
  You need to configure it using staff interface using it's web 
  interface, usually put on port 8080, for reasons I am not
  sure of.

  Nothing is listening? This sound like a problem with your
  web server configuration, rather than a koha problem.

  The easiest way to get a running system is to use the 
  Debian packages maintained by Robin Sheat. You may
  have a look at this page, recently did for
  my library school course.

  This should get you there, but I suggest to start from
  a clean sheet by reinstalling the Debian.
