*Amy De Groff Joins PTFS*
Bethesda, MD—March 24, 2010—Progressive Technology Federal Systems, Inc.
(PTFS), an industry-leading library solutions provider, has added Amy De
Groff as Transition Manager for the LibLime acquisition. Mrs. De Groff,
most recently Director of Information Technology for Howard County Library,
is pleased to return to PTFS to serve in this role.
PTFS’s primary focus during the transition process is on enhancing customer
support for the LibLime contracts, and Mrs. De Groff’s expertise and talents
line up perfectly with these goals. With over 15 years of experience in
libraries, archives, records and knowledge management, Mrs. De Groff was an
ideal fit at Transition Manager.
“Libraries using and/or considering using Koha are on the right path." De
Groff explains, “Because these libraries grasp the fundamental reason for
having an online inventory of materials is to make information available to
and for customers. Koha offers unparalleled opportunities for libraries to
provide unique and innovative services to their customers – meeting these
customers where they already are – on the web."
Mrs. De Groff brings a proven track record to the transition project; under
De Groff’s direction, 3 out of 4 computers managed by Howard County
Library’s IT department were upgraded to run nearly exclusively open source
software – during this upgrade computers offered to customers and staff
increased and requests for technical support on computers declined.
Mrs. De Groff continued, “I have seen the value open source software can
bring to an organization and I think PTFS is a firm with the talent,
commitment, and track record to help many libraries set ambitious goals for
their ILS deployments – and achieve them all.”
