[Koha] advice about basics of library management

Hello,

I am helping a community center set up their library on Koha. Can
somebody suggest some reading material or websites which gently
introduce basics of managing a very small library (around 1000 or so
books)? It will be much appreciated.

What they are doing now is:
1. Search a book on Z39.50 servers and import the data if they find it.
2. If they don't, then they just want to enter the data manually.

The second step is where they are not sure how to go about doing it.
They have their list of book written in a notebook for now. They have
their own call numbers as well. What they really want is to know which
minimum fields to fill in while entering a catalog item in Koha. And if
they find the book on Z39.50 search, they would prefer to use their own
call numbers and not Library of Congress'.

I am not familiar with library systems, hence my request for help here.
All advice is appreciated.

Thanks.
HS.
