UNIMARC cataloging, authority to 200f?
Hello, I am trying to configure an UNIMARC Koha, yet i have run into some trouble with the authority fields. I was wondering if there is any way to link the 200$f field to an authority record, but also keep the data in the other fields. I tried doing this the usual way, but i ended up as expected with authority data imported in all the subfields. I know this is an ISBD field, but could I somehow add only the "Statement of responsibility" data from 200$a of the authority record to the 200$f of the biblio? Thank you for any assistance, Kind regards, Catalina

Hi Catalina, In UNIMARC, the 200$f is not related to an authority. Look at 700 field to get the author authority. The 200$f contains the author name as displayed on the book, not necessary the authority form To answer your question: you can't connect 200$f to an authority. Hello Paul, Thank you for your response. I was already using the 700 field for the author. What confused me was the fact that in the interface the label for the author's name was "Additional Authors". I'm begining to think this is only an error in the text and I'll try to modify it. What remains to be tested now is the possibility to also import the link between biblios and authorities from the old database. I managed to import biblios from the stage import interface and authorities using the bulkauthimport.pl. However, link_bibs_to_authorities.pl does not seem to work on Unimarc. Thck you again for the confirmation, Kind regards, Catalina --- On Fri, 3/4/11, Paul Poulain <paul.poulain@biblibre.com> wrote: From: Paul Poulain <paul.poulain@biblibre.com> Subject: Re: [Koha] UNIMARC cataloging, authority to 200f? yes, it was. 700 is the main author, personal name, 710 main author collectivity name 701/711 additional authors and 702/712 other roles.

this is very tricky. We (BibLibre) does mostly Unimarc migrations, we have some handy tools for that, most of them are in git.biblibre.com, but if you have a specific question feel free to ask, we could have a script somewhere never submitted but that could be useful for you. -- Paul POULAIN http://www.biblibre.com Expert en Logiciels Libres pour l'info-doc Tel : (33) 4 91 81 35 08
