We're testing 3.20 before installing it in production. As part of the test, I ran some items through checkout and check in. I was surprised to receive emails about both these actions at the end of the day. I have been digging around in the system preferences, but haven't yet found where to switch this off, or at least change the email address. Am I the only one who has noticed this? It doesn't happen in our 3.18 production catalogue. We don't circulate that much material, but we also don't want an email every time it happens. On Fri, Oct 30, 2015 at 5:52 PM, Elaine Bradtke <eb@efdss.org> wrote:

Hi Elaine, it sounds like you are receiving corculation alerts? These are set in each patron's record and in the patron category definitions. I don't know why yours have changed between 3.18 and 3.20. Bob, Calyx On 3 Nov 2015 2:59 pm, "Elaine Bradtke" <eb@efdss.org> wrote:

Bob, thanks for responding, I've done some more digging. I checked the items in and out of my staff account and a notification went to the e-mail address that we use for koha admin and my personal email address (which makes sense given the quirk in the OVerdueNoticeBCC see below). The notifications in my account are set the same way in both versions of the catalogue (we try to keep the two as close as possible to identical so testing is reliable) . OverdueNoticeBcc has the same admin email address in both cases. This setting actually seems to mean that BCCs of all circulation notices will be sent to the admin address, not just overdue notices*. But the notices only seem to be sent from our test site that's running 3.20 I suspect there's a difference somewhere, in how our catalogue sends out (or in the case of production doesn't send out) messages. As I said before, we actually circulate very few items. Removing the admin email from the OverdueNoticeBcc seems to have stopped the test catalogue from sending out these messages, but it has me wondering why we never saw them from the production catalogue. Come to think of it, I've never seen overdue notices from production, and I know our patrons well enough to suspect the messages are just not going out. Back to digging around in the system preferences, and the patron settings. *There are a couple bugs filed for this: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=12490 and http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=14537 On Tue, Nov 3, 2015 at 11:37 PM, Bob Birchall <bob@calyx.net.au> wrote:

Hi, Apparently i have tried so hard to set overdue notices triggers to go out to all patron categories and it is not working. We are on 3.18. I have defined the notices. I am thinking i am mixing up the letters and also the delay period when defining rules for overdue actions. What could i be doing wrong on this one? Mary. Hi Mary, Are you saying that emails are not being issued to your borrowers? If so, have you enabled email from Koha? By default, its not enabled, so that you don't send emails before you are ready. To enable it, execute 'koha-email-enable instancename' from the command line. More info here: http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Commands_provided_by_the_Debian_packages (I'm assuming Koha is installed from the Debian packages. If its not, it should be.) If you have already enabled email, check that the server can issue email (independently of Koha). I hope this helps. Bob Birchall Calyx On 05/11/15 17:08, Mary W. Maina wrote:
