I have to store the book price in different currency format. For eg. some books have the price in US dollers, some others have in pound and some other book price in Indian Rupees. When I am saving the book price (eg: $180.00) in the field "Cost, normal purchase price" it is saving as 0.00. How can I solve this problem? This is a problem that I recently noticed too. The item database fields for price are stored as numeric so entering any currency symbol not only fails to insert the currency symbol but inserts 0.00 in the price field. In Europe as in many parts of the world items within one Koha system often have different currencies. I presume the original thought for designing it as numeric was so that the patron could be fined that amount if the item is lost. I think thant you need to fill this field with local currency, without currency symbol. I you use acquisition module, there you can use different currencies which are than automaticly converted to local currencies.
