Well, I figured it out exactly an hour later. Default values for the opaccolorstylesheet and opaclayoutstylesheet preferences are not set. This would also be the source of "Directory index forbidden" errors as the includes directory is where the css files are. I set them to opac-colors.css and opac-layout.css and the apperance is much improved. I really think default values should be specifed for these options. Has that been done already? I just fixed the Internal Server Error. The Date::Calc perl module was missing.
