Karen, If the patron has subscribed to enhanced messages they do get an email when a hold is ready to be picked up at the library. However you need to have a cron job running to grab and send these holds. I didn't think Koha was supposed to email the patron automatically that their hold was available. I checked the manual at koha-community.org, and it also didn't sound like there were automatic emails being generated. Can someone confirm this?
