Utf-8 portguese special chars
Hi everyone, I have a doubt about making koha display special chars in portugues. I have done the configurations in mysql and apache to utf-8 as described in the wiki. But what I find strange is that in the same screen there are chars that are correctly displayed, while others aren't. For example, in the image pasted in ( http://snag.gy/AkzLd.jpg ) I get the same portugues word "Preferência" displayed correctly and as preferência ... I have battled a lot with utf-8 in my life, but isn't it strange that in the same page exists this discrepancy? Thanks, Rafael
As far as I can see, texts originating from pt-PT-i-staff-t-prog-v-3006000.po <http://translate.koha-community.org/pt/312/pt-PT-i-staff-t-prog-v-3006000.po/translate/> are displayed correct. The texts that are not displayed correctly seems to originate from pt-PT-pref.po <http://translate.koha-community.org/pt/312/pt-PT-pref.po/translate/>. Maybe the downloaded pt-PT-pref.po <http://translate.koha-community.org/pt/312/pt-PT-pref.po/translate/> was not saved in URF-format, before the translation was made? The problem is that pref file do not have an appropriate header that states the file encoding. There is an already pushed patch [1] that adds the missing header. this will be in 3.12.1 and 3.10.7 (i hope) In the mean time you could add it using an editor, just copy & paste the generic header found in [1]. or the header in the pt opac file that I copy below. --begin msgid "" msgstr "" "Project-Id-Version: PACKAGE VERSION\n" "POT-Creation-Date: 2013-05-02 01:16-0300\n" "PO-Revision-Date: 2013-05-29 11:13+0200\n" "Last-Translator: vfernandes <vfernandes@keep.pt>\n" "Language: pt\n" "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8-bit\n" "Plural-Forms: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1);\n" "X-Generator: Pootle 2.1.6\n" --end Regards, Bernardo [1] http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10214 -- Bernardo Gonzalez Kriegel bgkriegel@gmail.com On Wed, Jun 5, 2013 at 5:25 PM, Lars J.
