hi. no replys to my first post, so i'm bumping this again. hoping that someone else has seen this fatal error before & knows what we need to do to fix it. librarian changed the system preference for "AllowRenewalLimitOverride" (under Circulation) & now we can't access any Circulation parameters. when clicking on "Circulation" (under System Preferences) we get this message: Koha error The following fatal error has occurred: The given value does not seem to be interpretable as a Boolean value at /home/express/kohaclone/C4/Boolean.pm line 102.Apache Server version: Apache/2.2.3 Server built: Sep 8 2008 08:59:32 Koha 3.00.02.012 Koha DB 3.0002012 MySQL mysql Ver 14.12 Distrib 5.0.32, for pc-linux-gnu (x86_64) using readline 5.2 OS Linux shin.ec2.liblime.com 2.6.21.7-2.fc8xen #1 SMP Fri Feb 15 12:34:28 EST 2008 x86_64 Perl 5.008008 anyone have any ideas? i would really appreciate any help! -ss shane skeens ceo, senior strategist indigospin : media+marketing 806.438.3021 www.indigospin.com

Ahh, that's a real shame. You should press them for access to your data. In the meantime though, I suspect that the value for that preference is not a 1 or 0, but is something like Yes instead, which is causing that error, you will need to fix it in the db. So maybe someone at PTFS can fix that for you. Chris
thank you, Chris. you are correct, as the values available for that preference are "yes" or "no". how the db gets hung as the result of a change from one to the other is beyond me, but this isn't the first time we've had db problems with the LibLime installation. i've emailed support@LibLime.com as well, so hopefully as you say, someone over there will help us out. PTFS did talk about offering better support for LibLime after the acquisition, so i hope that's going to be the case. I've followed up on this with the helpdesk. Many of us are out at conferences this week, but we should be able to get someone to fix it at the database level. Excellent :) Committing to fix it, and using the public mailing lists, thats already 50 points ahead of the previous support provider Chris
Wow! i concur with Chris completly! Thank You for the support! it would also be helpful if we knew how to keep this from hapening again. -ss shane skeens ceo, senior strategist indigospin : media+marketing 806.438.3021 www.indigospin.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Cormack" <chris@bigballofwax.co.nz> To: "Jane Wagner" <jwagner@ptfs.com> Cc: "Shane Skeens" <shane@indigospin.com>; <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz> Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 5:23 PM Subject: [SPAM] Re: [Koha] [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: Has anyone seen this before? I think there is a bug in your version of Koha. I will test in 3.0.5 (the latest stable release) and see if it still exists there. Chris
thanks, Chris. wouldn't surprise me. unfortunately, LibLime has been running several stable versions behind everyone else. There are numerous bugs that have fixes which can't be employed due to the "closed" nature of their hosted system. LibLime doesn't even offer a per-incident support option, just a $10,500 annual support subscription. i have high hopes that the new management will step up their product support (& upgrade schedule!). if they don't, i don't see a future for LibLime; i couldn't recommend them based upon our experiance thus far. -ss shane skeens ceo, senior strategist indigospin : media+marketing 806.438.3021 www.indigospin.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chris Cormack" <chris@bigballofwax.co.nz> To: "Shane Skeens" <shane@indigospin.com> Cc: "Jane Wagner" <jwagner@ptfs.com>; <koha@lists.katipo.co.nz> Sent: Tuesday, April 13, 2010 7:23 PM Subject: [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: [Koha] [SPAM] Re: [SPAM] Re: Has anyone seen this before?
