Thanks for the answer, vufind probably is the solution. But koha already uses Inter-library loan (ILL) module. If it could be further extended to use it as a union catalog compatible. My suggestions is in below: 1. Koha will provide a remote authentication token 2. Another koha will use that authentication to synchronize the database 3. Sharing could be permission based. i.e, catalog, user, accounting etc. Is that possible? So that it will be an standalone solution and an easy to use between participating libraries. to create a union catalog with different Koha installs you can: 1)Setup z39.50 server on every Koha 2)Do the union catalog with pazpar2, http://www.indexdata.com/pazpar2 An example of pazpar2 complex conf: https://github.com/ssp/pazpar2-config
Wouldn't be a third option to use OAI-PMH? Maybe with vuFind. What are the advantages you find using the other alternatives?

have you changed the frameworks that install with Koha? Some tags and subfields are needed by Koha in order to work correctly. In MARC21 some subfields in 999 should not be changed. For a first test you can take a look if any errors appear if you open the MARC Bibliographic Framework Test under Administration.
Hope this helps,
Katrin

in fact it is an other option. I think it is more complex to do, but with OAI-PMH and Vufind you can create a better result. The advantage of pazpar2: -- More light -- More simple to do (my opinion) Dis: -- No checks on loans -- more 'basic' as frontend

Our library enabled the AutoEmailOpacUser preference so that patrons receive a notification of their account details when we create an account for them via the staff client -- http://manual.koha-community.org/17.11/en/administration.html#AutoEmailOPACU... -- and we've set AutoEmailPrimaryAddress to use the first valid e-mail found in the account.
But we've noticed that the e-mail is not always sent when the account includes a valid e-mail. The documentation does not mention any specifics, so I was wondering if anyone can explain how this feature works?
It seems to be sent only if the username field is blank AND there is a password included. I've found that if staff do not include a value in the password fields, the e-mail is not sent. If the password fields are filled out and staff also include a username, the e-mail is not sent.
Is this the intended behavior?
