[Koha] Confirming lack of edit access to Koha site

Hi, Sorry I've lost the thread of this a while back, but I can confirm that despite having made an account I don't get edit access to any pages other than being able to submit a news item. I confess to not having tried to submit a news item however so I'm not sure how far I can get with that. Can I get some confirmation that this is un/expected?
