Irene, Those fields are grayed out because you have the system preference set to require authority records for those fields. I can't remember what the preference is off the top of my head, but the manual may help you. We have recently installed Koha 3 on Linux and have encountered a problem when adding bibliographic records manually. When using the catalogue module some subfields in certain tags are greyed out and do not allow data to be entered. The tags concerned are: 100, 600 and 700. Also when the record is saved and an item added it can not be located through either the staff search component or using the OPAC despite the fact that when it is issued using the barcode the system recognises the bibliographic details that were entered (minus the greyed out tags). Obviously we seem to have missed a pretty basic setting somewhere. Can anyone help please?
