The December issue of American Libraries, the magazine of the American Library Association, has a feature article by David Dorman called "Open Source Software and the Intellectual Commons." Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available online . . .
Dorman argues that Open Source is not a fad, but a "fundamental trend that fulfills some very basic economic, cultural, ethical, and political needs." He mentions Koha in the very first paragraph: "There is even an Open Source library management system -- Koha -- in general release for smaller libraries."
He also says the widespread adoption of Open Source is "all but inevitable."
