instead of using the barcodes created by koha we bought pre-printed barcodes. is it possible to import those barcodes we bought using a barcode scanner
keep in mind that the barcodes we bought are nine digits while the ones created by koha are eleven digits.
When it comes to storing barcodes, Koha is completely symbology agnostic. :-) Your barcode scanner should be able to read the barcode and pass it to your computer as a string followed by <return> sequence (to mimic the action of manually typing in the numbers and pressing <enter> key)
also is it possible when scanning the barcodes to have a prefix attached to each barcode automatically, based on the library code.
you can use jquery to do this. add the snippet to your intranetuserjs syspref. See http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/JQuery_Library for examples. hope this helps. -- Indranil Das Gupta Phone : +91-98300-20971 Blog : http://indradg.randomink.org/blog IRC : indradg on irc://irc.freenode.net Twitter : indradg -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Please exchange editable Office documents only in ODF Format.
