[Koha] Item number not updated automatically in the items of a marc record after editing that marc record's item number

Hi I have a marc record with attached items. I needed to change the item call number in the tag 082 b ( Dewey Decimal calssification item number). I expect to see the changes to be updated in all the items of the marc record. But this does not happen.
