Even though I was choosing marc21 as the import character encoding on the Stage marc for input, it was not until I set marc21 in the system preferences that the records were being imported with the correct field mappings.
There is actually a bug related to character encoding and Stage marc for input - choosing a MARC flavour as a character encoding doesn't really make much sense: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5859 Best regards, Magnus Enger libriotech.no
