[Koha] Report for new acquisitions

There doesn't seem to be a built-in report for Koha 3.0 that finds items added to the catalog after/ before a given date, or between two dates, & I'm not familiar with SQL syntax. Is this something that can be done with the Reports utility? Specifically, we'd like to use the dates in 952 $d ("Date acquired") to generate reports on our latest new materials (just author & title in most cases). I presume this would be fairly simple if we were using the Acquisitions module, but we're not going that route, at least for the moment, because of the extra time involved.
