Try Administration>MARC bibliographic framework>BKS>MARC Structure>010>Subfields>Edit subfields>a (or whatever)>display more contraints>Advanced contraints>hidden
To find what the number there means, and to decide what to use, click the Help in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (the question mark, "?")
I changed mine to "-1" and the "a" subfield now shows in BOOKS.
