Tuesday, April 12, 2005 00:04 CDT Greetings, all, Just wanted to ask a quick question about what the current situation is regarding use of Library of Congress Call Numbers instead of Dewey. I remember that this was a problem for some time, but I thought I'd read a solution posted to the listserv, but I can't relocate it now (either that or it was just a pleasant hallucination). Also, if one is using 852 for holdings data, with the call number (fractured as it is into its parts), is there a particular Koha MARC tag where the call number should go or does go by default? Is it integrated there (i.e. one string giving the whole number as it would appear on the spine label) or does it remain fractured into its component parts (prefix, suffix, class part, item part, etc.)? TIA for any/all help, Steven F.
