Hi Koha people! I moved to a Debian box and did an upgrade to 2.2.1. I'm testing my Koha mapping before I load my OCLC records. Now, I think I finally understand the Koha-to-MARC mapping ;) but what I would *really* like to understand is the Koha-to-OPAC mapping! Trying the different opac themes suggests that people map different Koha fields to the columns displayed in the opac. I made a page showing my bizarre results in the 3 themes: NPL, CSS, and Default, at http://www.secondhandknowledge.net/koha.html Now, I know I must have some Koha-MARC mappings wrong (call number, for example). (You will see that I just typed some made-up numbers in for the call numbers for now--I'm really not a bad cataloger!) But I'll figure that out. Despite that, it would be really helpful if someone (Steve?) would tell me which MARc fields/Koha fields fill which columns in the NPL opac display. (in other words, explain how it's done at Nelsonville). Would you write up a little something, like: ----------------------------------------------------------- Title | Author | Call number |Copies | Available at ----------------------------------------------------------- 245a 100a ... biblio.title biblio.author ... etc. for each of the display screens? And maybe include a MARC record printout so we can see what your local fields are (barcodes, call #s). I'll send you chocolate.... or perhaps Krispy Kremes? ---- Kim Scannell _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz http://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
