Hi Bob, the new third option was added by bug 15534 for 16.05: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=15534 The patches added a third option and changed the descriptions to be more precise: Yes (unchanged, we don't care about availability) If all unavailable (new behaviour) If any unavailable (old behaviour) The former 'no' option allowed a hold as soon as one of the items was checked out. With the new behaviour holds will only be allowed when all items are checked out/unavailable. Hope this helps, Katrin On 06.03.2017 05:32, Bob Birchall wrote:
The documentation of the circulation rules (manual section 3.2.1) states: "Next you can decide if this patron/item combo are allowed to place holds on items that are on the shelf (or available in the library) or not. If you choose 'no' then items can only be placed on hold if checked out." This implies the behaviour is Yes/No. However, in the circulation rules matrix, for the 'On shelf reserves allowed' column the options are: - yes - if any unavailable - if all unavailable
Can anyone point me to the bugzilla entry that changed this behaviour? I'd like to update the doco. Thanks, Bob Birchall Calyx _______________________________________________ Koha mailing list http://koha-community.org Koha@lists.katipo.co.nz https://lists.katipo.co.nz/mailman/listinfo/koha
