[Koha] Koha Admin Email

Hello... I'm with a problem on the admin email. I've set up it to a gmail account but I can't send email notifications to new patrons or I can't receive email notifications when the patron change its personal details... What i need to do to make this work? Install an SMTP server on the Koha machine? Can you tell me a easy way to makes this work... Thanks for your time...
