[Koha] Barcodes with leading zeros and spaces

Does anyone have any barcodes that use leading zeros and upper and lower case letters? I am working with a library who has barcodes that look like "p 000123" which they need to have interpreted as "P123". Any thoughts about how Koha would handle that?
