Hi Rachel, Would MarcEdit be of some use to you ?
From what you write a newbie like me would suggest SMRI rather than BMI, since SMRI will put your records in the reservoir and edit them manually before they are added to the catalogue. I assume that you are not even forced to handle them alltogether once they are in the reservoir: you may be able to handle one or two from time to time.
