the error is as you said Due date "YYYY-MM-DD" is invalid
I am not typing it in, i am using the built-in javascript calendar.
My apologies for the difficulty in understanding my question.
I have set the date setting to ISO in the settings part as I was advised
This is an upgrade from koha 3.0.1 to koha 3.0.3 (i think)
i backed up the database, deleted the original (full hdd format) and then reinstalled, and restored the DB.
could this have caused it.

This is the exact error you're getting?
"Due date "YYYY-MM-DD" is invalid"
Are you typing "YYYY-MM-DD" in the "specify due date" field field? If so, that field is expecting an actual date.
