Hi Zeno, thank you very much for all the suggestions and the clarifications! So, I will try to do different tests with a personal VM, and keep the community updated (maybe it will be helpful for someone in the future). Thanks a lot and have a nice day! Hi Alessandro, if you must use AlmaLinux you can start from here: https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_3.22_on_Fedora_23 https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_3.10_on_Centos_6.3_x86_64_en The real problem is to install dependencies. I suggest you create a personal VM and do many tests and trials
The Docker solution is to install a full debian inside a docker container and here install Koha. If your SysOps don't want Debian probably they don't like a solution like this. In fact a docker container is very similar to a VM. So AlmaLinux (a VM probably) with Docker runs a Docker container with Debian. A VM inside a VM in fact.

Hi Joel,
thank you for your suggestions!
I am aware of the RedHat vs Debian issue related to Koha, but unfortunately I am obliged to use AlmaLinux. Precisely for this reason I was wondering if anyone had had any direct experience of installing Koha on Red-Had (and in particular on AlmaLinux).
Regarding Docker, would you recommend a few in particular?
Thanks a lot and have a nice day! Alessandro

One thing to understand here is, while there are many linux distributions, they mostly fall into two main families: RedHat -based and Debian -based.
Koha work is mainly done in Debian -based platforms. AlmaLinux is RedHat -based. It should still be possible to make it work, but it is not going to be as easy or simple.
Your best option might be a container (Docker) installation, which can help smooth over some of the dependency and platform differences. But even then I would not expect to be successful unless I really knew linux well.

Hi all,
I have to install Koha on AlmaLinux 8 and I wonder if anyone has tried to do such a thing, or if anyone can suggest some documentation.
Thanks and have a good day!
