[Koha] Field will NOT delete

Ok. I want to delete a field completely. I click on the Minus Sign next to the field and everything disappears. I click on SAVE and go to the Add Holdings page. When I click on the Marc tab, the field is listed with entries apparently made up by Koha. I've got all the subfields listed as 2 so I can see them. Nothing is in the fields and they all clear when I click on the Minus Sign. Koha 3.00.00.107 TIA Lenora A.
