Hi, I'm working on linking between records. Our libraries catalog in our union catalog so our data contains 77x $w subfields and 001 with unique identifiers for linking. I will change the XSLT files so that links are displayed with at least a fallback to text links. I saw that use of $x and $z is also common. I think this could perhaps be added in a second step. Finding time has been a problem, but I hope I can submit some patches in about 2 weeks. There has been some discussion about analytic records on the list before, but I'm not sure if anyone has done an implementation (please speak up if you have!).
It seems to me that the key thing that needs to be done is linking the analytic biblio record to it's "parent" record. The MARC21 77x fields are designed to make those kind of links, but as of right now there is no specific way to work them into your Koha OPAC aside from using the XSLT display options.
I'm certainly interested in developing more integrated Koha support for bibliographic record relationships, which would include not only analytic records, but also FRBR relationships and any other kind of relationship the library may need (it should be user-configurable). I think that kind of additional tool would make things much easier for a lot of libraries.
I _need_ this! :-)
I'm also willing to sponsor the development of these features (to a certain point of course).
