Thanks Jesse, That's not what I hoped to hear, but what I expected. In editing the entry, via the "Replace Record via Z39.50," I'm able to retrieve Library of Congress info, and call numbers, but when I save, the call number remains unchanged, still displaying the old number. If I change that number in the "edit item," it will be correct. I'm probably approaching this problem from the wrong direction, as I'm very new to Koha, but shouldn't the MARC biblio info be in sync with item info? Hopefully this makes some sense... Thanks, Daniel On 3/23/16, Jesse A Lambertson <jlambertson@sqcc.org> wrote:
Daniel,
I think for LoC, you can only do one direct import at a time unless you order records through their record distribution service (which costs $).
Please correct me if I am wrong.
If you used OCLC, you could perhaps put together a file of LC records and do a mass import (setting holdings data before import). Otherwise, assuming LC has catalogued every item you have, you will need to do one search at a time - probably with the Z39.50 search tool.
Thoughts on this from anyone else?
Thanks,
Jesse

Hi,
I'm working on a restructuring of a small arts non-profit library. The library currently uses an esoteric, confusing custom catalog numbering system devised by a staff member who is no longer here.
We'd like to switch all our records over to LoC cataloging. We currently are using Koha 3.18.05.100 - I'm curious if it's possible to replace all our records with LoC records, in bulk, rather than editing each individually.
Thanks!
