Hi Christopher, I am not an expert on these things but I think the question is "what barcode formats will my barcode reader handle?". So long as Koha gets numerical data it doesn't care whether you typed it in on the keyboard or scanned it in with the barcode reader. The barcode reader is supported in the operating system not in Koha, it just generates a string of digits as if you had typed it in. Hope this helps, Chris Brown On Wed, Apr 17, 2019 at 10:22 PM Christopher Davis <cgdavis@uintah.utah.gov> wrote:
Dear Colleagues,
I need help figuring out what barcode encoding to use with Koha when ordering library cards. Barcode encodings which are available include Code 39 & Codabar. Is there a specific encoding which Koha requires or likes. Also, the library card vendor wants to know if a check digit is required; the check digit signals the barcode reader where the beginning and end of the content is, correct?
