[Koha] MARC to Koha mapping of item records

Dear list, I am mapping item records from our current system to Koha. Not all of the fields in our item record are represented on the item linking table. For example, I don't see a Koha field for total checkouts in the items table. Is it possible to add this field? Can this be done through the GUI?
