[Koha] Koha3 out of memory

I have a machine with 512 MB of memory and 512 MB swap. When I try to run 'perl Makefile.PL', it completely jams the machine and I get an error message saying: [date and time] mysqld restarted Out of memory! Callback called exit. END failed--call queue aborted.
