Hi Owen, Your response is very thoughtful, thank you. Especially, i realize now that embedding this in the footer will not delay loading the business part of the page, i have noticed in the past that the GA script takes a while loading stuff remotely from the Google servers. This requires embedding a small snippet of javascript. i know there's a system preference available (System > OPAC > opacuserjs) where i can insert the snippet. Is that the recommended route?
I think that's probably the best solution. You could also place it in the opaccredits system pref, which adds a block of HTML to the footer of OPAC templates. I believe the effect would be the same either way. Editing opac-main.tmpl would work, but isn't recommended because it's hard to track template changes when it comes time to upgrade. Adding the Analytics script to each page of the OPAC (via the above method) also lets you track each page rather than just the home page. -- Owen -- Web Developer Athens County Public Libraries http://www.myacpl.org Unlimited freedom, unlimited storage.
