You should check CPU and I/O. It is taking too long and I guess resources are not enough to run all the things. If you manually run: $ koha-dump <instance> What takes most of the time? DB? Files? Do you have a huge /var/lib/koha/<instance> dir? Are you running your backups with --exclude-indexes? Those are the questions I would start with. I started using a service from uptimerobot.com to monitor our Koha installation, and I found out we have a daily outage very early every morning lasting about 40 minutes. Not good. Tracing this down, I found service is restored each day at the same time -- to the minute -- when the daily cron job for the backup finishes.
Other monitoring shows we should still have enough RAM available during this time, so I think things may be timing out due to heavy disk I/O writing the backup files. Any ideas how to address this?
