Hi to all, this my answer to different questions done by Paul and about form a Koha Technical Committee.
* last month, we sent a mail about moving to solR. Another sponsored work (thanks St Etienne). Some have answered. BUT : no decision has been taken. I don't mean here saying "ok, BibLibre, we will integrate your work without looking at how you did it", but no-one has said "OK, BibLibre, it's where the project want to go, your arguments are fine, there is only one problem with z3950 server that seems to be solvable. If it is solved, this streategic decision is taken". We have to go ahead, and now, if it's not accepted by the community, our only option will be to fork !
For me (and others two italian users, not here and not CILEA clients) the answer is: Yes, do the solr search BUT mantains Zebra option. Using a periodical reboot, for us, the deamon zebraque is OK And we use only latin char.* Last week, I wrote many mails on koha-devel to announce all our
underway RFCs. Maybe you can argue there's something wrong with what I wrote. The problem is that, once again, no-one has said anything ! So, what must we do next ?
For me are OK.
* Savitra Sirohi wrote detailled RFCs in september. And they look awesome from a functionnal point of view. hdl asked for some schedules, got an answer, but I feel it's not enough. We (community) should work more closely with him to know sooner if/how the coding is going.
Now I'm working with Savitra Sirohi about the RFC "Analytic Record support" http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Analytic_Record_support We speak on the lists and on IRC. I update the wiki with the request of everyone. Now we are working and there is a branch on git And we have received a fix from Henri-Damien LAURENT I know there is a "multi-level biblios" RFC but I don't know where is.
Something like a technical commitee may fit the need. It may be something else. It's just that today, the situation is not sustainable !
I'm agree, the situation is not sustainable. For me a technical committee is OK. Or also a RM as benevolent dictator (like Linus on Linux kernel). Bye Zeno Tajoli -- Zeno Tajoli CILEA - Segrate (MI) tajoliAT_SPAM_no_prendiATcilea.it (Indirizzo mascherato anti-spam; sostituisci qaunto tra AT con @)
