Lenora, When you are adding a new record and you see the field with no text boxes, click on the field name and they appear. Seems obvious but it fooled me at first too. To control that go into the MARC Bibliographic Framework option from the Administration screen in the staff client. Click on MARC Structure for the framework you want to change. Search for the tag you want to change (100, 245, etc). Click on Subfields for that tag, then click the edit subfields button (you might have to scroll down). Click on the subfield you want to show up, the click on the "display more constraints" link. Sometimes you need to scroll down to see this, and it opens up more entry space below so you may need to scroll even further down. The "hidden" field is controlling what subfields are viewable on the OPAC, the staff client, when editing, and whether or not the tag displays with subfields already open for text entry, or collapsed so you have to click on the name to do the text entry. Click on the question mark in the upper right hand corner of the screen to open the on-line help, and it will tell you what the various values will do. Doug Lenora Oftedahl wrote:
Ok. I made my way through the parameters/system preferences. Now I'm testing functionality.
When I'm trying to add a new record, I get to see the MARC fields with entry boxes for indicators {yeah}, but there are no text entry boxes except for the 245 fields (title) and item types.
I've looked at the subfields to see if there is something I'm missing, but I don't see anything different.
Thanx. Lenora
