They are, if you configure them that way. However, it looks like
patron attributes are only searched in the general/keyword type patron
search. You are not provided with a specific search option for these
like you are for Sort 1 and Sort 1.

For patrons, Sort 1 and Sort 2 are configurable authorized values:

Look for Bsort1 and Bsort2.
