[Koha] Editing MARC Frameworks

Hi Sally

I'm no expert on this but it looks as though there is a box for 'Default value' -- of course, I don't know how you'd enter a default value there (regular expressions?) so that the system fills in characters 0-5, then 'km', then the rest of the leader. Same deal for the 008.

Both fields seem to refer to plugins (marc21_leader.pl and marc21_field_008.pl), so it's possible that there will be a way to set these values there, but I'm not really sure (and it sounds like a really bad idea to keep that sort of information in something that can be overwritten next upgrade).

With kind regards from the Dalton McCaughey Library Team

Subject: [Koha] Editing MARC Frameworks

Hi All, we are new to Koha, and have not been able to find an answer to this problem...

We are trying to create MARC Frameworks for various record types, but cannot work out how to set the Leader 06 (Type of material), 07 (Bib level) and 008 fields to correctly define the materials.
For example:

Visual Material [VM] for our 'Art' framework:
Leader position 06 = k
Leader position 07 = m
008 field = position 33 = art original = a

Continuing Resource CR for our 'Serials' framework:
Leader position 06 = a
Leader position 07 = s
008 field = position 21 = Periodical = p

Can these data elements be hard coded into a framework?

Thank you
