Ubuntu 12.04LTS is getting "older" but is still [at least partially]
supported until 2019. My experience is that Ubuntu 16.04LTS needs
"downgrading" of MySQL (to 5.6 from 5.7) for Koha. The Wiki reference
you cite is not very clear on all this.

Given the statistics for usage of Ubuntu servers (anecdotally "quite
prevalent", no proof) I would suggest that it behooves our Koha
community to be clearer on what exactly is involved -- it's not "rocket
science", but it obviously could be a "good thing (tm)" to have a
write-up available on the reasons why, and what is involved.

I get the impression, perhaps incorrectly, that the difficulties
described in this query involve a 32-bit system. If this is not
possible, shouldn't we say from which version forward 32-bit packages
are no longer suitable for Koha installation?

Respectfully -- P.
