[Koha] Koha search returns no results

We're at version 3.18 and the previous version was at least two years old,
but I didn't note it down. 

The About page show this error: 

Zebra server seems not to be available. Is it started? 

When I re-index I get these errors:

The issue seems similar to this post
http://koha.1045719.n5.nabble.com/Indexing-Not-Updating-td5866318.html, but
I had no luck after reading through it and applying it to our iteration of
koha. 

In zebra logs this is happening:

seconds

In a infinite loop while the service running.
