You are approaching the issue from a more difficult and IMHO a *bad*
angle, especially since you are not adept at SQL and you are trying to
directly edit the database, which should be avoided as far as
possible.

What you *should* be using in this case is follow
http://manual.koha-community.org/3.22/en/batchmodifyitems.html

I'm assuming you are using the latest Koha i.e. 3.22 series.
