Most likely you need to enable email cron jobs.  If you've installed 
from Debian packages you'll find the command here:
http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Commands_provided_by_the_Debian_packages 
(see #3.1)

When starting a new thread to the mailing list, please change the 
subject heading.
