[Koha] uploaded cover images: format and dimensions

The info you need regarding size is right here:

in short there is no size restriction applied.  Also "The source image
is used to generate a 140 x 200 px thumbnail image and a 600 x 800 px
full-size image. The original sized image uploaded will not be stored
by Koha"
