It uses HTML5, so some browsers won't do it. Firefox and Chrome will.
Koha works best all around with Firefox or Chrome.

Yeah, it would be nice to be able to make the sounds as configurable
as, say, item type images, with sets of different sounds and means of
specifying an external URL.  Someone will have to want that enough to
do it or pay for it :)
