[Koha] Software error : Urgent help pls

I am getting this error. I have changed the path of sock and pid file in
my.cnf to /var/lib/mysql/.. because mysql was not running but now i am
getting this error when i browse koha. I have tried everything to resolve
the issue but in vain.

Software error:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket
