Community,

Did you know that Koha automatically parses the bibliographic records it
returns with a search, and gives you a COiNS/OpenURL/Z39.88 span that
bibliographic utilities can pick up on? I did, but I've never had call to
use it.

Does anyone out there make use of this feature, or teach their patrons to?

I ask, because it's a very expensive feature, resource-wise, and if it's not
commonly used, it may be best to be something we enable/disable with a
system preference.

I've filed a bug report for this (
http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5957), and will be
working on a patch, if the community feels this is worth the effort.

Cheers,

-Ian
