[Koha] Koha and Drupal

Have you seen eXtensible Catalog?  It provides a top layer that is Drupal
based (one node per record as you mentioned).  And they have some nice
conversion utilities for grabbing catalog content and converting it to the
XC Schema which relies on Drupal for the OPAC layer.
