No - not at all, as I said below, I can highlight it - just not do anything 
with it.

700$a looks exactly like 100$a which I can edit, delete, etc at will - and 
you'd think that the authority would treat them the same, or maybe even 
give higher priority to the "primary" author.

For the record, all other 700 fields are fully editable.

I'll fiddle with your suggestion tomorrow - but as you say, it is a bit 
drastic and SQL can be a tad touchy.
